Do you think your child has the look?
This article came out in the local paper a couple days back. It appeared like any other normal stories that covers the profile of child models (aka child babes) right? Wonder why they have to use the word “babes”… macam Baywatch babes.
Anyways, check out the front page.
Terraa…..

Oopss.. does this sound like a spon sored post?? Muahahahaa.. go figure……

I was a vain pot…
Hormone changes in me during my 10 months pregnancy were truly profound. Flashing back, I seriously do not know how could I be so vain?? Seriously vain vain vain. I just had this gush of dire need to look pretty and be accessorised all the time. Some say, if you’re preggie with a baby boy, the mother-to-be tends to be more vain and the skin will glow wor… I don’t know about the glowing part but I was seriously 100% top vain pot. Some of the things I would do:
- On workdays, I would sacrifice my sleep, woke up earlier in the morning so to straighten my hair (well my hair is actually considered very straight but I was so particular about being tidy that I must use the straightener for that extra smooth and silky hair).
- I had two earrings on each ear. One is a diamond stud so I hardly change but I’ll make sure my second earring (color, design) matches my clothes of the day.
- I put on full make up with mascara, lip liner, blusher, eye shadows etc. I will feel ‘na-ked’ if I go to work without all these paint on my face.
- I would buy new maternity clothes almost every week. If I don’t get to buy anything that week, I’ll be very upset. I just had to had something new.. blouse, pants, skirt, dress, whatever….
- Pedicure, Manicure is a must must must. I try not to be seen wearing the same nail color for 2 consecutive weeks.
and others others…..
The post pregnancy changes in me weren’t so apparent before I became a full time stay at home mom (after our move to Singapore). After delivery, I recovered from the vain pot syndrome. I no longer feel sorry for myself if I don’t look pretty or accessorised that day or if I woke up with a bad hair day. I still put in my bestest effort to dress well and look good of course. I still have to make a living. Err.. cannot go work looking like a zombie right.
Today, after 3 months of being a full time stay at home mom, I became such a minimalist. I still try to look my best but I’ve grown out of the need to put such heavy duty make up when I go out. Of course in front of hubs, or when we go out pat-toh, I try to dress up a bit la. Singapore is not too big. In case we bump into somebody we know, they won’t snuggle behind our backs and start gossiping how come so and so’s wife looks like a maid. Plus, I still wanna have No.2 leh… of course must look good and seeexxxyyy when hubs is around right? You agree or not? Blehhh….

About my maid…
Muahahahahaa… my maid never failed to amuse me. Maybe she feels I’m too bored at home and in dire need of some entertainment.
I asked her to go to the coffeeshop again to buy me lunch. In view of her blunder the last time, I decided to write down the instructions on paper after briefing her what I want. She threw away the paper already so I can’t take a pic of it. But the message was as clear as below:
1) Carrot Cake – less chili – small – approximately $2 (cos I do not know the price)
OR
2) Chicken rice – small – @2.50
Pretty straight forward. But like I said she never failed to entertain me until the extent I find her naively blur and quite funny.
I only gave her $10 and she came back with ‘yat chau yee lang’ (bags of food) I thought nothing about it until when I walked to the dining table where the food was served, I saw two servings of lunch?? A closer look I saw – a packet of carrot cake AND chicken rice. Aiyyoooo.. my maid. Aiyoyo… Dem joker la!
** To give her some credits, besides the occassional blunder, she can do her work pretty well (a bit slow but that’s fine. I don’t have a bus to catch), and importantly she adores Ryan and Ryan likes her too so I guess she cannot be too horrible for a person who loves kids.

Tag: Awards Awards
Okie doke… whenever I could, I’ll try to do my tag homework. I simply have too many to owes. Really have to ‘kow tao’ to those I have not managed… Sorry….Will slowly complete them esp. the tougher ones.

2) Here another award from this dedicated Terry’s mommy. Like me she’s also a SAHM, but Judy is definitely much more successful one for her success in time management – blogging, paid post, housechores, Terry’s welfare, etc etc…. She could manage it all so well. Hands down, she definitely deserved the award. As such, to receive this award from her is definitely a pleasant recognition.

I wish to extend these two awards to all my blog readers, whether you’re a silent or ones who never failed to cheer me up with your comments. Thank you all for your support. Even those who are not a blogger. You sure have a spot in my heart esp when you left me the msn messages to show how much you care. Here’s one specially for all of you……. no names mentioned but you know who you are. Cheriosss.

Selling my Car
Just received a call from MIL. There’s a buyer for my car. It was barely a week after the decision to sell off my car who has been sitting there collecting dust and depreciating as day goes by. So, I should be delighted when the good news came right? (more ca$$hh in bank)…… but,
why do I feel the sudden’ mm seh tak’? Just a car wat….. (my hubs said). Maybe it’s because it’s less than a year since I bought it. I’m quite sentimental when it comes to my belogings leh (I told hubs)… I am, really am.
The worse is the buyer wants the car immediately (today if possible), cash buyer wor. Geehz.. so kan cheong and these people are rich! 130k cash??? I told MIL to hold until the banker’s cheques is cleared, all paper work done and I see the monies in my bank. I trust no one when it comes to money.
I guess I will not get the chance to say bye to him (car) personally….
It does sound like it was just yesterday I blogged about it, arrggh.. but.. what the heck.. just a car.. just a car… just a car… just a car!!!! (sad face)
Bye ‘just a car’……

S$5 Chicken Rice
I’m really speechless about my maid. I asked her to go buy two packs of chicken rice from a nearby kopitiam and gave her $10. Period. Pretty straight forward instruction right?
After a while she came back and I opened up my chicken rice and saw wow.. so much (rice and chicken meat). Can feed an elephant (ok.. exaggerated but it’s really a lot). I was a little surprised but never thought much about it and continued eating. Maybe uncle seller miang, likes my maid so much and gave more chicken?? Don’t care la. Eat first.
Later I asked my maid, how much is the chicken rice (there are two serving, small $2.50, big $3.00). The last time I asked her to buy, I instructed her to buy two small packs @ 2.50 each. So this time round I thought maybe she forgot and bought the $3 per pack instead.
Then to my dismay, my horror, my surprise, my curiousity, my my my holy sh-it… she said it’s $5 per pack. OMG!!!!! I said how come so expensive. I knew prices soared up etc but 100% hike on chicken rice is simply not possible. Hak sei yan meh???
I repeated after her “$5 per pack???” I looked at her (trying to control my cool for having such a blur sotong maid) and kept mum. Next, she has the cheek to said these to me “Ooo.. yea… last time $2.50. Sorry mom, I told him $5″. Now I’m curious. There were way too much chicken for a $2.50 price tag but may be too little for $5 too. (Putting on CSI cap) Maybe she telan my $5 by sacrificing some of her chickens and gave the meat to me? I really don’t know and I don’t want to be judgemental. All these while, she has been pretty honest and trustworthy.
See, I’m so geram (furious) not because of the money. Afterall, it’s just a small amount. But I want the truth. I can tolerate having a blur sotong maid, but I will not accept a dishonest person in the house. I’m about to take my nap now before I grill her further later. I’m good at grilling for answers… after 16 years of training on my hubs. Kakakakaaka….

Tag: My Desktop
First of all, thanks to all who tagged me. That only shows you remember this blur sotong mommy despite me being far away from home (not that far actually). But shamefully I also have to admit, I’ve been really slack and I have at least more than 10 tags homework to complete. I must apologise for the long delay. Give this lazy mommy more time ya….
This is one I owe ECL… since caveman era (oki oki.. a bit exagerated but by no means it is that long overdue). There are a few I owe way before ECL’s but more complicated so I better do the simple one first.
This is how my desktop looks like. so many folders, files, applications etc. In short: M-E-S-S-Y

HK TVB Series Marathon
After skipping many afternoon naps and burning lots of midnight oil, finally I finished all the 60 episodes of the Hong Kong TVB Series called The Drive of Life (歲月風雲).
Of all the stars, one that I really liked most is the guy name Feng Shao Feng (mainland China actor) who played the role “Wah Zhen Man”, Myolie Wu’s boyfriend/husband in the series. His role is not big in the movie but surely leaves an impression for me to search for his real name. Kakakakaka….. (Mr Lim don’t get jealous ya…)

Our Utilities Bill This Month
This is the latest utilities bill I received. See the total amount?

Yes.. SGD652.47!!!!; the amount we have to pay for the electricity, gas and water we used for the month. Electricity contributed the biggest pie. Gosh.. we never had to pay so much when we were in KL even with a bigger house and definitely higher electricty usage, more appliances etc. I know I know.. if Malaika Mommy reads this, she will tell me this.. ‘DO NOT CONVERT”. But really can’t helped it. Hak sei yan meh!!! Did I really used up so much of electricity? Must really do an assessment………..
